JK, I don't see any reason to be overly concered. It's not keeping me up at night. There is no reason to assume that the grounds would be poorly drained, and it would take a lot of rain in most cases to cause crappy conditions anyway. Besides, it's easier for muddy powerslides!

Yeah, I think it was $15 Pre-registered, or $20 Day-of..spectators are free. Not sure if that's going to change or not with this whole new setup.

Just stopped by at the new location. As of right now its all flooded because of the snow melt. Looks like a good spot, a little concerned about fitting all the cars and spectator cars.

Everyone should take 26 mile not 25 mile. Hayes road is dirt between 25 mile all the way to about 200yds from 26 mile. So fyi, take 26 mile to Hayes, and then head south on Hayes. It will be on your left.

Unless of course, your a 4x4 and want to take the dirt road. haha :ugh!:

But I think we should be open and judge after the fact...I'm sure there is a lot of work that goes into organizing this, and I think it is not fair to those who try/work on making this thing dance, forming a negative opinion before it even started.

Got an old aircooled? bring it out. Drive a dirty '94 Jetta but you love it... bring it out. etc. It's a laid back car show. If anything I think this venue is a great match to the vibe of the show.

Come out, chill, and check out some dope dubs. :)

FYI, new/different locations had been discussed for previous Motorstadts as well. VWoA has served us well, and really wasn't the biggest reason we continued to consider new locations. The reality is, dealing with the City of Auburn Hils to muddle through all the required permits was probably the primary reason we finally moved the show.

Yes, the new location is grass, so weather will be a bit of a larger consideration the day before and the day of the show. The other side of that coin though is the swealtering heat radiation off of acres of black-top had been a common complaint from the VWoA shows. It also had limitations because there was no outdoor power available, and the building itself had to be staffed/open for toilet access.

Basically, what everybody is saying is "chill out"... Try to stay open minded about the new location, and if you change your mind about attending, come enjoy the comraderie of your fellow MIVErs while we celebrate our shared love for our cars.

Yes, come from 26 mile then turn on hayes. If you come from 25 mile, hayes is dirt until about half way.

Just to clarify (hopefully) .. between the Austrian Society, and 25 mile you will hit a dirt road. Hayes is dirt from 25 mile up to just before you get to the park.. If you take 26 mile, then turn South down Hayes to the Austrian Society, you will not hit a dirt road. Sorry for any confusion, and hope this helps.

sure rolled for a good second though! did you get home safe?

haha yeah, it got home just fine... i just think it doesn't help on a tow dolly when you don't have a steering column lock. i think it wiggles its way free.
