Motorstadt after-party camping:

There have been some rumors floating around about camping at the show-ground this year. We are pleased to announce that we have made the arrangements to make this happen on a limited basis.

I for one am really excited about this and I know it will be a kick-ass time. However, we need to make it clear right off that this isn’t going to be a crazy kegger. The idea is to allow a quiet night of contemplative reflection after a long day of showing.

Here are some details.




Let’s start with a few bullet points:

Camping will be limited to 50 people.
All attendees must be registered with me prior to camping.
There will be some cost involved although we don’t know exactly what it will be yet.
No coming and going will be allowed. We don’t want people drinking and driving, revving their engines or otherwise acting the fool. Plan on a curfew starting at dark-thirty.
There will be restrooms available but maybe not showers.
Obviously we will need everyone to pick up after themselves and leave the area looking the same or better then when we arrived.
Campers are encouraged to participate in the after-show clean up.
We reserve the right to deny entry or eject any camper at any time.

If this works well I think it would be cool to do it on a larger basis at future events. The camping/car show thing is very appealing in a Euro-show kind of way. Consider this a test.

Remember, we want to be welcomed back next year, so be mindful, respectful, pick up after yourselves leaving this cleaner than when we got there, and have a good time!

The grounds keeper guy is going to show us (you guys) where a camp fire can happen. Cost he hasn't decided yet, but he said it would be "very reasonable".. :p

My advise on the cost thing, bring $20 per (just in case), but I have a feeling it's going to be cheap. Don't hold me to it since I do not know how much, but I'd guess about the $5, possibly $10 range..

I went up to the camper for something, found something to eat and then just passed out. It was a really nice time. We were proud of ourselves for getting away from home even for one night. Need to do that more often. When is the next event like this? Busses in the Fall?

I am sure camping was a blast, sorry we flaked out but with the dogs and Nicole having to get up at the butt crack of dawn sunday it was just not in the cards. Next year we will try to be dog free and it will definitely go down!

Austrian Society grounds are beautiful. Good people Good times. Lots of good laughs and memories, including 2 with air mattresses. Loved it, can't wait to do it again.
