        I had a worn out (albeit to a much lesser degree) support bearing in my old B5. Ended up finding a complete used driveshaft with a guarantee for under 100$ and skipping all the labor involved in replacing just the bearing.

              I had a buddy with a Volvo XC70 that he ran with no center driveshaft for a considerable amount of time. When he could finally afford to fix it, they just popped a new one in and everything was fine. ymmv...
