I have built many high reving superbike motors (14k rpm) and have never seen any long term problems from it.

Also the SDS chip might be able to get you more power through custom tuning and isnt as expensive as going with a motec or another custom ecu.
It is REALLY insane how working on our dyno really shows how a properly fuel injected motor performs.
We didn't knife the crank cause it just doesn't provide much bang for the buck. To do it right you'd be spending $500+. This would yield some extra power and better oil scavenging. However, most shops will tell you it's not worth it unless you are doing an all out race motor. Plus, the G60 is not a rev happy engine. This motor is built more for around town driving and low end torque.

I'm assuming you mean and SNS chip? I've had lots of personal experience with SNS chips. Mostly bad experience. Some people sware by their work, but after blowing two motors running their chips I'd never go back. They just don't have the R&D necessary to make really reliable power. However, I couldn't agree more that a properly tuned engine is the way to go . I just think the BBM chip will be the best for this setup.

Ya, I do not have much experiance with sns, I used one chip for my g60 and it was not too bad. I have also used the autotech chip and that was also another great buy. BBM does have the r & d.

I do not know the area well (i am from nj) but if there is someone around that has a dyno and the capability to tune that would be the wisest choice

I just tuned a motorcycle this week that gained 15 horsepower from just tuning the FI.

And also the place I worked at before in NJ just got their dyno and tuned there small tire drag bike and gained an incredible 45 horsepower. (turbo 1300 cc with lectron carbs.) Just by looking at the plugs it read fine, but the sniffer told another story.

Yup, it's up and running now. I drove it around the block.

Tommorow I'm bringing it in to Betten for some tests and to set the timing better.

            I'll post pics soon.

              Ben -

How did it go with the tuning today? I never heard back from you and was just wondering. Did you end up putting a plate on the car or not :)

                Jeff-
The car ran fine. I used the plate from my GTI to get to Betten. However, we did a leak down test and one of the valves was leaking a bit. We thought this might be an issue because Joe's valve grinding tools were getting pretty worn out.

We could have left it the way it was and it would have been alright for a while. However, we wanted to do it right so we pulled the head. Joe will be re-grinding the valves this week with new tools to make sure everything is sealed up right. Hopefully we can have the head back on this coming weekend and be back on track.

Sorry for the hold up man. Give me a call if you need a more detailed explanation.

                  Ben -

Thanks to you and your brother for doing it right. I probably would have not know about it. Honesty on both of your parts will take this company along way.

Thanks again and do not worry about the time. I am not rushed. A job well done is much better than a quick job.

Have a good one. You guys are awsome :!: :!: :!:
