Just keep building it to suit you. There doesn't have to be some end all be all for the car. It can have stages. Just because you want to autocross it, doesn't mean it has to stay that way. When something on it no longer functions in a way you want to use it, change it.

I think the process is half the fun anyway.

legitimate question, how do people who do "builds" justify the costs? I've tried to just convince myself that this is my hobby and hobbies cost money, but I still have trouble committing $5-10,000 that I'll never see again.

Honestly, the idea of putting in money I'll never see again is one of the reasons I sold my first R32, and I think that was a dumb decision in retrospect.

I justify it by knowing how much fun I'm going to have with the car afterwards. Plus the journey of modding the car is half the fun to me.

/\ this. Plus when my mom passed last year, I realized how short and precious life is. That is why I bought the MK1 cause modding made me happy and I want to be happy today as I don't know what is going to happen tomorrow. I don't think there is any right answer, as long as your happy whatever your doing that is what's important. On that note it would be awesome to see this rip around a track.

Yeah I try to practice the idea that I can't take the money with me when I die, but I also want to have the ability to retire around 60. the fun/rational balance is skewed by this and many other factors.

Not later enough. I didn't realize the last proper update was when I lived in Michigan.

In lieu of an update, does anyone want to buy the car? It needs a good home. I haven't driven it since October and that makes me sad.
