I had been looking around for a Caddy Project for a little bit and finally pulled the trigger on one.
Picked it up last month (9/17/14) from a Miver, Its far from Perfect… but it was a decent deal and delivered so it works for me.
1981 VW Rabbit Pickup
LE6U “Slate Gray Metallic”

Photo’s from the PO

Had corrado seats in it but I just wanted the originals..

I didn’t want the Motor & Trans… so that was pulled before it was delivered.
First thing I did was tried to clean some of the bay.. caked on Mud and such but its cleaner..

Moved it around in the garage a few times and will be moved again for the winter… I need to store the rabbit someplace else (or a bigger garage..) haha

Currently how the garage is stacked..

Plans..
Clean it up as much as I can and learn as I go
Find a replacement 16v or rebuild mine (whichever I can do cheaper)
Get it low.. Low as I can on air (raised struts or go crazy with a Uni-Bodydrop yikes!)
This is something I will work on when I can and $$ allows.. Not in a hurry to get it done as fast as possible
Just would like to get some new tools, Learn, and have fun.
A few other photos...
Cruise control anyone?

My helper with one of the seats.

All the wiring is out and interior is gutted..

Rear bumper is off

That's it for now with photos.. I have started in the bay cutting out brackets and such, and wire wheeling out the seam sealer looking for more rust haha
