  • Project: Save the Jetta Coupe.

So I picked this up from a kid really cheap since he could not fix it and well I guess his wife was pretty pissed since he traded a nice bike for it. The car is rust free and has a ABA bottom end with a 16v head. I will try to list out everything that I have receipts for. I have not seen this car up for trade or sale anywhere so I know it has not been whored around to much. The only real issue I have found is the driver side door has some sun fade.

Nice one. Could probably sell it for 3.5 to 4k to the right buyer.

Not sure I will be selling this one but it is nice to know how much it is worth compared to how much I have into it. I will take a few pics of the motor tomorrow before I start rewiring their swap and cleaning it up a bit.

Fixed the no starting issue to find out head gasket is leaking out of the side of the block. As well as the valve cover seal and both oil pressure switches. I will be doing these as well as fixing an exhaust leak in the next few weeks. The 5 mins I did drive it were pure pleasure though! She runs hard.

I am on the fence about this one... I was thinking of grabbing a old 20v audi manifold and k24 and throwing on maybe 5-10psi. I would want to make this look as classy and seamless as possible. Suggestions?

Here are a few pics from when I tore it apart last weekend, dropped my phone so I will upload the rest later. Turns out the head bolts were at around 35lbs which I assume was the issues with the leaking gasket, anyway gasket is now fixed, cleaned up the head and spent a few hours cleaning up the wire harness and making sure everything tight. Next I am going to find a different solution for air intake and I just found out tonight the orings on the injectors are going to need replaced. She is coming along...

Spending some time today redoing some of the wiring that was just not up to my liking. As much as I dislike the cone filter it is all I have right now...

Few updated pictures... Going to be putting on a new head today and cleaning up all the old oil sitting around inside the engine bay.
