I'v been collecting parts for a while and have started a project building up an A1 scirocco. Yep- a rusty 81'.

Parts I've aquired for the motor:
2.0 ABA bottom end (black)
1.8 8v solid lifter head (soon to be black)
288 degree cam
dual 42mm Solex carbs
electronic fuel pump
external oil cooler kit
dual downpipe manifold and pipe
(home-made side exhaust soon)
Parts I've aquired for moving and stopping:
5 speed GTi trans
Quaife
clutch rebuild kit
(lightened flywheel on the way)
steel braided brake lines
Parts I've aquired for suspension
front upper and lower stress bars
(1 inch drop already on the car but coilovers are on the way with a rear swaybar and rear strut bar)
different rims all the time


Other stuff i plan on will be some of the same old stripping here and lightening there.

i've spent a lot more time preparing for this and researching- i think its a little easier than the VR6 was for a kid who had no mechanical experience.
i also have my boss to help out at the shop iv been workin at.

im working on it. the scirocco is covered in snow and a lot of the parts are still in the mail. just got my 11" steering wheel today along with the fuel pump, cam, and some other stuff.

still waiting on my TT race and HD motor mounts and the head gasket set so i can put the motor together and mount it up!
