  • solex 34 pict 3 question

    I'm using a solex 34 pict 3 in a non-traditional application

when the choke is closed/not fully open it runs great, idles a little low.

when the choke is fully open, it idles a little low and kicks like a mule when I roll off of the idle circuit.

Any suggestions? I've followed the typical 2 1/2 turns out deal and trying to get the bike to stay idling at 900 rpm is a challenge.

I soldered shut the little air bypass hole in the throttle plate. The bike runs pretty good at all choke settings except for wide open. My guess is that the little cone filter i have on top of the solex is flowing too much air. I'll see if i can find some foam to restrict it tomorrow.
