  • MK4 AC not working

AC has been working great...wife drove to her job and it was working fine, came out a few hours later and it wasn't. Don't see anything obviously wrong, clutch isn't kicking in...It'll spin if I move it by hand. I can't imagine it's the compressor, maybe a relay or something? I know nothing about AC...

Fan control module, pressure sensor, compressor clutch.
    Most likely the last one...

the times i've had a compressor fail it was loose of locked up, this spins smooth and freely...

so did mine, ended up being the clutch (whole new compressor). Same symptoms i had, working great, then not working at all.

fixed it. thank God it was just the fuse in the Box on the battery...it wasnt blown but had gotten hot and the plastic had melted and was no longer metal to metal. new fuse and back to ice cold air.
