  • 98 VR6 Will turn over, won't crank

We are having an issue with the VR6 we just bought.

A couple days ago, my husband and his friend replaced the spark plugs on her, he drove it a bit and it was fine.

Today he went out and drove it a couple miles, no problems. Went to start it up after removing the MAF to clean it and now it will turn over, but won't crank to start, the RPMs don't move.

First we want to check the spark on the spark plugs, if anyone could let me know how to do this I would appreciate it!!!

Any other insight is appreciated. We are thinking to attack it like this:

    Check the spark plugs
Crank sensor ( read about trying to replace the wire first)
coil pack (first checking the power connector)

    thanks!!

If this only started after you cleaned the MAF I'd be looking there. Perhaps it's damaged, not plugged in all the way or otherwise faulty.

See if it will start with the MAF unplugged:

you can try to "wiggle" the crank sensor wire. as in moving it in different positions.
        Bad decisions make excellent stories.
