    More info... amazing.

"A Ferrari Enzo owner, that many know in the Ferrari circuit, lost control of his Enzo last week in a Utah LEGAL Road Rally. Mr. Loose has been featured in many Road & Track articles over the years but the most notiable has been from a few years back where they test drove an Enzo that the buyer has just picked up. This happened to be Mr. Loose." - from another board/member. The story from Mr. Loose is as follows:

"Richard was going close to 200mph, and hit a bump in the road that sent him airborne. The car rolled 7 times and was flat as a pancake. Fortunately he was wearing a helmet. He has cracked vertebrae in his neck and back, 4 broken ribs, broken sternum, some broken fingers, and the only surgery he made need is on his thumb. Nothing life threatening. He is refusing pain medication because he thinks he needs to be punished!" - From a Friend of Richard's

"The road rally, organized by Larry Miller's Miller Motorsports Park for the Honoring Heroes Foundation, raises money to help families of UHP troopers killed or injured in the line of duty. UHP clocks the drivers' speeds and gives them "speeding tickets," the "fines" from which go to charity. Drivers also fork over $5,000 to participate."

that was taken from the article...

    and this too...

"The 30 cars, with a UHP escort, then drove to Park City, Duchesne and Price before heading south through Torrey, Escalante and St. George. On Wednesday, the drivers headed north to Salt Lake City, where the cars went on display at the Gallivan Center. McCleve explained the money raised from the rally and an auction will go to the Honoring Heroes Foundation, which will then give it to families of 14 troopers killed on the job. Families of injured troopers also will get funds.

In addition, the rally assists rural communities and students. The towns of Duchesne, Torrey, Escalante, Price and Delta, along with Tooele County, each received $5,000 for student scholarships and money for civic-improvement projects."

Just because he crashed a (difficult to handle) supercar doesn't mean he can't drive. How often have you seen professional race car drivers crash? Never? I thought so.

Not to mention that he's logged tens of thousands of miles in his Enzo. Makes mentions of Ferrari contacting him to give a make-a-wish ride for some kid at Laguna Seca.

Maybe the guy actually knows how to drive. Maybe, considering he had what the article states as possibly the highest milage enzo in the world, it's possible that he had a mechanical failure.

Seems more likely than the guy not having enough skill to keep his car in a straight line.

Drive it like you stole it (on a track)... and try not to crash.
